EXCERPT OF STORY...

"Wow, who's that?" I exclaimed excitedly as a sexy
little lady sauntered up the drive of our neighbor's
home. She had such silky brown hair and her eyes -
they glittered like the Hope Diamond!

"Hi there, lady!" I hollered.

Imagine how my poor innocent heart pounded when
she turned around, looked up towards my window
and smiled.  I was so breathless when she fluttered her
eyelashes then coyly bowed her pretty little head that
I thought I would faint - not of pain or shock but of
ecstatic dizziness.

"I'm in love," I screamed in joy, "I'm totally and
helplessly in love!"

Excitedly, I looked down at the drive again but she
was no longer there.  In a sudden wave of panic, I
started running helter-skelter out of the room.

"Hey, lady," I shouted hysterically, "don't go just like
that!"

Down the stairs, two at a time, I flew in hot pursuit of
my newfound love.  She has got to be there
somewhere, my heart kept pounding hopefully as I
dashed like a rocket running out of gas, down the
drive, around the bend and into our neighbor's
garden.

At the gate of Mr Blummers' home, I screeched to a
halt, my eyes scanning the patch of green grass and
red bougainvilleas.  I studied the place for signs of
her, crossing my paws as I did so.

Finally, I saw her looking like a living goddess at the
doorway just beside a rose bush.  "Ah," I sighed
happily and felt myself relaxed.  I was at peace once
again.

For a minute, fascinated by her beauty, I watched her
like a hypnotized dove.  She was remarkably beautiful
at close range.  And, as I studied her carefully
brushing away dirt from those fragile-looking nails of
hers I thought, 'Ah, where have you been all my life.'

For that whole minute, I watched, fascinated, till as if she
had just realized that she was not alone, she looked up
and gasped in obvious delight.  Bashfully, she then
lowered her head and pretended to brush her nails
again!

As I approached her with big purposeful strides, I
noticed how she would occasionally cast a glance my
way when she thought I was not looking....
