Little Orphan Girl
LITTLE ORPHAN GIRL
(Code: VL-0003)

It must have been the flowers
That first caught my eyes
The sprays of rubies
Bathing in the colors… of butterflies

Yet that night I saw her in my dreams
Those sad eyes looking up at me
She whom I had ignored that noon
Was in my thoughts, was in my room

So I went once more to the orphanage
To see if she was there
She was… still quietly seated
With ribbons in her hair

Then I walked up to her
And I reached out for her hands
Instinctively she cringed away
Unable to comprehend

So I smiled into her eyes
They were huge and filled with fear
And I watched amazed as slowly but surely
It all began to disappear

And then she broke out laughing
Oh, such a beautiful sight!
And then I knew the reason why
I had the dream last night
